We have heard a lot of buzz about Lung Yai Thai Tapas being the best thai spot in Miami. It's a hole in the wall restaurant with Michelin acclaim. You have to order everything at once before they bring out your food/drinks. The baby back ribs appetizer were small deep fried pieces with bones - difficult to eat and not much meat. The chef's special dipping sauce it was paired with was INCREDIBLE. I think it is a variation of Thai nam jim. The Tom kha soup was excellent - coconut milk, mushrooms, fish sauce, limes, etc. I had the pad kee mao entree, which was a smaller portion than expected. Overall, the spot is good, but we prefer Larb Thai Isan in Broward.
Great easy spot to grab a quick bite for lunch. The spring rolls were crispy and tasty but a little less filled than I was hoping for. The chicken wings were delish and accompanied by the Thai salad was perfect for 1 (with leftovers too). Sitting outside was pleasant. They will also ask for your entire order all at once
Tucked away on a little corner of 8th St. is Lung Yai Tapas. And if you're looking to be transported away to Thailand during your dining experience this is your place. There are lunch hours and dinner hours, so make sure to check their daily operating hours to be able to plan your meal accordingly. Some would say Lung Yai could be a bit of a tight squeeze, however if you're with the right company the vibe is quaint and cozy. The customer service is fast paced while still giving you ample time to review and look over the menu with the food coming out fast, fresh and hot. Everything was made to order. The shrimp & pork dumplings were stuffed and fried to a crisp perfection and the same can be said for the chicken wings that are accompanied by a tangy, sweet and spicy sauce that we wanted to smother everything with. The hits for us were definitely the tapas portion of our meal and with the word 'tapas' incorporated in their name, Lung Yai lives up to it. There was nothing wrong with our entrees, as they were prepared accordingly and tasteful, however the tapas were the star of the meal that have enticed us to give Lung Yai Thai another go.
This restaurant is literally a hole in the wall with great food. There are only a dozen tables. The restaurant is in the heart of Little Havana. We ordered the pad Thai, Pad See Mew and fried rice. All good! I also, had a glass of Cabernet and it was decent. The service was great!
The food was okay. Good prices, great service. The ambiance is very casual, low key. The spring rolls were good, the pad thai was okay.
Arrived on a Thursday night and we were seated right away. The service is pretty quick, probably due to the limited tables they have. Our food was brought out pretty quickly. To share we ordered the chicken wings and spring rolls. The chicken wings were pretty standard, would probably skip next time. The spring rolls were excellent, would definitely order those again. I ordered the pad Thai as my entree. The pad Thai was so good. It had a lot of egg which was a nice surprise.
I've dined here near ten times now! Excellent duck salad the flavors are strong, savory, delicious and very well balanced. I gravitate towards savory, rich and I appreciate fresh vegetables and delightful textures, the duck as well as the mushroom app is amazing. Their drinker noodle dish is as well. I wish their duck salad was an entree it's so satisfying. Their thai coconut curry with noodles and a protein is also out of this world, Service is quick and great, ambiance is quaint.
HIII I thought I wrote a review for this place when I went for my birthday... guess not... but here goes! This place is good! But it is super casual and very informal. For being Michelin recommended I thought service would be better. They prefer to serve people fast and get them in and out kinda how like how if you were in actual Thailand. So I guess its about the experience. I decided to come here for my birthday and I am very grateful for my friends to come out and celebrate with me. We ordered a lot of food and we had to order everything at once. So no ordering seconds!! I would say the appetizers were not your usual apps. We ordered the fried tofu and mushrooms which didn't have lot of flavor except for the sauce you dipped it in. TBH I can make it at home, so I would skip on the apps. For entree they can accommodate for being vegetarian friendly which is nice because I had a friend who didn't eat fish or meat. The pad thai and pad see ew were not anything special. I would say if you were to order from here would be the Khao Soi. It was definitely the best thing on the menu. Something you can't find at other thai restaurants. Super flavorful and the crispy noodles just hits different.
Came here for date night. My friend gave me the following suggestions... Pad Thai. Chicken wings. Beef salad. Tum yum soup shrimp. Panang curry. Fried Shrimp dumplings. Pad see ewe beef. First is a small establishment. We sat inside, but it was really outside which was OK cause it wasn't too hot (for a Miami day), but I did get attacked by mosquitoes so that wasn't fun at all. Also, you get one chance to order everything so that's a little annoying. But it is what it is. We had the passion fruit saki. I have a love hate relationship with passion fruit but It was really good. We had 2 bottles. Not too strong bc I wasn't tipsy at all. For appetizers, we had chicken wings, beef salad and steam pork dumplings. The chicken wings had great flavor. Steaming hot but so good. The beef salad was amazing. Flavors were great. Wish there was more in the salad. The pork dumplings were delicious and the dipping sauce phenomenal. My boyfriend had beef pad Thai w egg on top. I Took a bite and it was up there as one of the best pad Thai I've tasted. A smaller portion, but still filling and so yummy Ihad The Pad see ewe with chicken and it was really good. Flavorful and delicious. I'd definitely recommend this place and I'd like to go back to try more deliciousness.
